One can loose weight in a natural way without using the weight loss pills that are available in every other store. Here are a few tips:

1.    Drink water

Water is probably the most important means in losing weight and keeping it off permanently. Water serves as an appetite suppressant by means of keeping the stomach full and avoids dehydration that can result in false hunger or cravings. Water metabolizes stored fat by helping the kidneys wash out wastes. Drinking ice cold water burns about 62 calories per day. This corresponds to about 432 calories per week.

2.    Do not skip meals

Most people think that skipping meals will help them in their quest for weight loss. This is a fast diet concept that can not be further from the truth. The reason is that when you skip a meal, chances are you eat more during your next meal. When you eat too much, you store more fat. Another reason not to skip meals is that the body has a defense mechanism to fight hunger by reducing the metabolism so it burns less fat and stores the rest for future use.

3.    Avoid midnight snacks

Do not make eating late at night a habit when in the process of losing weight. This is a fundamental rule whether you follow a diet or not. The reason why you should not eat too late and go to bed is that the body has no time to efficiently work off the calories consumed and therefore they will be stored as fat.

4.    Exercise Regularly

People who exercise regularly will not only lose weight faster, but also succeed in keeping the body in shape. Physical exercise can create a caloric deficit resulting in weight loss without starving your body and slowing metabolism. In the gym or playing sports, participate in both activities of aerobic power and strength on a regular basis. Not only the work out itself will burn calories, but the body will keep on burning calories at a higher rate even after you are done working out.

5.    Cut Down on Sugar

Be aware of sugar consumption in soda, coffee and processed foods. Keep away processed foods like ketchup, bread, canned fruit, salad dressings, peanut butter, and others. There are other options for these foods that don’t contain ingredients you don’t want. Check brands sold in stores like Whole Foods and health food stores. Aside from that, beware of fat free products. Fat free does not mean no calories. What you eat and burn eventually turns into fat anyway.

The biggest concern is that the decrease with insulin levels leaves us tired and hungry and leaves us craving more. Unfortunately, the result in this scenario is that we crave things with a high sugar content. Controlling blood sugar levels is the most effective way to maintain your ability to burn fats.

Remember, fast diets are not effective diets. Careful attention to what you are consuming and regular exercise hold the key to lasting weight loss.
